It’s been very grey and cozy here. I’ll miss summer but I have 2 new sweaters I’m excited to wear.
Fairy Time and Printer
I got a printer. I’m using it recklessly. I also recently tried to read a fairly popular book series where fairies are a main feature. It wasn’t for me, but it did get me on a fairy doodling kick.
Murder, she sketchbook
Been watching a lot of Murder, She Wrote lately. So good.
Dying Laptop
10 years that laptop served me….. RIP to a friend.
Self Portrait Process Clips
I wish this was how fast I really drew.
Official Statement Regarding Romaine Lettuce
It tastes bad.
Pumpkin Pie Process
A peek at some of my general steps!
Mary Casset Studies and a Sorry Self Portrait
Can you believe they made me to a 9:00pm meeting? On my day off!
Dragon Time!
There was a rumor that they were making a movie based off the Dragonology book. I got this book at a book fair and just assumed everything in it was fact. It was big, like a textbook, so it was very convincing.
A friend of mine also had this book and she ripped out the glitter, packaged as wish dust, and used it to wish for another horse (that’s right- she already had one horse). I found this to be disgusting vandalism of what I thought was a priceless ancient tome. Even though I had an identical tome. What a lucky break that 2 of these ancient books survived to be found at the scholastic book fair!
Figure Drawing Thursday
I haven’t found a in person life drawing class that works with my schedule yet so I rely on resources like Line of Action. Which are great but it’s not the same as being there in person.
My Sketchbooks are always 8.5x6in because they fit so nicely in front of my computer. But since I tend to draw on the larger size when figure drawing I do them on loose computer paper. It’s a process similar to when you have to unexpectedly entertain a child with what you have in an office.
It helps keep me humble.
I also save all of these loose pages in a large precarious pile, I like to think one day I’ll bind them into a book. Or use them as wallpaper. Who knows!
Variety Practice
I was having some fun practicing drawing a variety of ages. Sometimes I fall into a pattern of drawing only people my age, something I’m sure a lot of artists struggle with too. But when I catch myself and practice drawing young and old, I find it so much more rewarding!
Curlers and a Cabinet a Friend is Making For Me
I, as a 25 year old, still do not have a consistent signature. It’s different every time. I’m still practicing. Please do not use this information to forge documents in my name.
I also still haven’t gotten the 70’s curls I’m going for.
